There are many, many court cases ongoing or scheduled around Trump and Jan 6th
One of the more interesting is Dominion v Fox News, Rupert Murdoch and several named Fox News Presenters
Dominion are one of the two companies that manufacture the electronic voting machines used in US elections. Following the 2020 election right wing groups repeatedly alleged that the voting machines had been rigged to swap Trump votes to Biden. These allegations spiralled into fantasies involving The President of Venezuela, North Korea and China, Italian component factories all conspiring to 'fix' the voting machines
Fox News and it's presenters costantly repeated these allegations, didn't question conspiracy theorists who appeared on their programmes, and generally reported the allegations as common knowledge and factual
Dominion is suing for £1.6 billion dollars for damage to their reputation and business
Under the US 'open justice' system the depositions or witness statement can be published subject to limitations to protect the rights of defendants to a fair trial
The depositions in this case seem to show pretty conclusively that behind the scenes Murdoch and the Fox News staff knew that the allegations were a load of rubbish but continued to promote them because it went down well with their right wing audience and kept viewing figures high. This is important because Dominion is trying to show that Fox acted with malice not out of ignorance.
As an aside the documents attached to the depositions show that Fox was tipping off the Republican Party about Democrat election adverts before they were broadcast to give them time to get swift rebuttals out
Trial is due for April .......

Noose tightening around Trump ?
^^ that's major stuff (whether the money is considered big is relative, seems like a lot even for multinationals) as it could pull in a lot of people though I'm thinking many would just say 'not my fault I trusted tem as a news source' or 'ha ha diomatic immunity' , 'no extradition' etc
( who people vote for is none of my business, it's the deliberate attempts to knowingly dishonestly subvert the democratic process that are the actions of scumbags )

Fox's defence is that they were reporting the news ...... eg if Trump gave a speech in which he alleged that the voting machines were fixed that would be news and Fox reported itDoctor_Wibble wrote: ↑ ^^ that's major stuff (whether the money is considered big is relative, seems like a lot even for multinationals) as it could pull in a lot of people though I'm thinking many would just say 'not my fault I trusted tem as a news source' or 'ha ha diomatic immunity' , 'no extradition' etc

What Dominion is alleging is that Murdoch and the Fox staff knew the allegations were a load of old rubbish but presented them as facts to keep their right wing viewers happy ....... hence they didn't act out of ignorance but out of malice. Which obviously means Fox & Murdoch face a big payout if they lose the court case

Noose tightening around Trump ?
Trump has posted that he expects to be arrested on Tuesday and has called on his followers to protest
No official announcement has been made
This relates to the Stormy Daniels case ........ the allegation is that Trump committed a felony by misrepresenting hush money paid to Stormy to keep her quiet about an affair in the run up to the 2016 General Election. Paying the hush money is not the crime ..... the felony allegation is that Trump 'hid' the payment in campaign expense records by claiming it was for 'legal expenses'
It appears that Trump did indeed pay the money to his lawyer, Michael Cohen, who then paid off Stormy. Cohen has since spent time in jail for his part in the matter ....... I guess the trial now revolves around whether Trump knowingly gave Cohen money to pay off Stormy or whether Cohen did it off his own bat with money paid to him by Trump for his legal services
The prosecution's star witness is Michael Cohen who has now turned against Trump and has been co-operating with the Manhattan DA
Could get nasty if the Thickos decide to invade Manhattan ....... what we appear to know is that the New York authorites have been meeting with police, FBI, all the other arms of the security services to come up with a process for managing any riots
