England have thrashed India today in the world cup semi-final and now face Pakistan in the final on Sunday

It's been announced that Sky Sports who own the rights have agreed to simulcast the final on Channel 4 so everyone can watch it

England cricket is on the up ...... we are already world champions in the 50 over format and this last summer played the best Test cricket for going on 20 years in winning series against India and New Zealand

My dad will be pleased. He's a big fan of cricket, though I think he prefers the more traditional test match, but any cricket will do. Used to drive us mad as kids, as he'd have the TV on with the sound muted, and the radio on for the commentary because he said it was better. He still prefers the radio commentary.

I used to do that as well ....... trouble is now that TV and Radio are digital they're never in sync

They're both 'delayed' but not by the same amount

TV can be up to one ball behind the radio

On the other hand, this can be turned to an advantage - hear a wicket go on the radio, might give enough warning to turn or get to view of aforementioned telly just in time to see it happen.

Oh dear ..... terrible weather forecast for Sunday in Oz. There is a contingency to play on Monday but the forecast for then is not much better

Several games during the tournament have been already been rain affected ....... England's tie with Australia was washed out

Shame they've had to try and get this tournament in during the fag end of the Australian winter but with the commercial T20 leagues around the world appearing to take precedence it's difficult to fit International competitions in the calendar

IPL, Big Bash, The Blast, The 100, ....... and the equivalent competitions in the Caribbean, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, South Africa ...... it's getting to be impossible to find 3 weeks to hold a World Cup
