Following on from my Dead Man's Shoes thread, I wanted to talk about another Shane Meadows film, This Is England, and the spin-off TV series.

It's a powerful film tackling the subject of racism. The main character is a 12 year old boy in 80s England who gets involved with an older gang. Through them he meets Combo, played by the brilliant Stephen Graham, a skinhead with some very unsavoury views regarding race. Of course, it's not long before things go drastically wrong.

Anyone else seen it?

I think I saw this on TV ....... some time ago

I didn't clock who Stephen Graham is so I looked him up and recognised him from the sky comedy about two detectives (one had been rebuilt like the six million dollar man)

The first time I watched it was on TV. In fact it was the TV Premier of the film on Film4. It's become a staple of my film "collection" ever since.
