I think my phone has been hacked:(

For a few days I've noticed that when I'm away from my phone and return to it it's bringing up a strange message saying it's lost its connection and random numbers, but today something worse happened and it brought up porn.
I tried googling what to do if your phone starts playing porn but ironically it blocked the search 🤣

Help!!!

That's awful, it sounds like it's been corrupted with a virus.
I suppose you could try resetting the phone to factory settings and see if that resolves it. You would of course lose all your contacts, messages and apps and have to start from scratch.
Sorry, but I'm not a great tech bod, but can't think of another option, though those far more knowledgeable than me may have a better solution.
I'd love to stay and chat...........but.

If your phone is Android, doesn't it back everything up to your Google account anyway?

I don't tend to use my phone to connect to the Internet, but I know that on the rare occasion I do, it resumes backing up, so I can then see my photos on my Google account on my laptop, also my contacts and calendar etc.

If yours has been doing this, it should make it easier to reset and then sync everything back to your phone, possibly even re-installing the apps?

I'd agree, resetting everything should help.

If you're not sure about any backups, you can always connect your phone to a PC & copy over photos/music etc. Once phone is reset then copy them back. You will lose any text messages doing it this way.

I've realised that it's playing adverts randomly and some of the adverts just happened to be porn. I'm waiting till my son comes round to reset it as I don't know what to do

I'd imagine a dodgy app is causing the adverts. Deleting it may help, but once it is hacked a reset is really the best option.

The tech guy in work recommended installing bitdefender and it seems to have worked.

That's good news. Sometimes dodgy apps/programs can block or disable anti virus software from working or even installing.
